The officer then ran the vehicle identification number which came back to a Ford Expedition reported stolen from the Speedway on Lee Highway in Chattanooga. The report states the doors to the vehicle were locked but the driver’s window was down about half way. The officer was able to unlock the car to further investigate. According to the report, while officers were investigating they noticed blood splatter on the ceiling of the vehicle along with the inside of the back right window. The vehicle doors were then closed to protect a possible crime scene. the report states the vehicle was towed to the ERPD impound lot. Dispatchers left a voice mail for the vehicle’s owner informing her that her stolen vehicle had been recovered.

_ 3508 Crabtree Dr.: Police were called to the address last week on a reported theft. According to a police report, officers spoke with a man who said he noticed items missing from his garage. The victim told police that he hadn’t been into the garage in several weeks. He told officers that the windows to a side door had been broken out previously. The report states that officers noted that a sheet of plastic that had been placed over the window was ripped which would allow a hand to unlock the door. The homeowner said he was missing a Husqvarna leaf blower, two radio-controlled cars with parts, and three drawers of miscellaneous hand tools. The value of the stolen property was placed at about $2,700.

_ 5003 Covington Dr.: Police were called to the address last week on a complaint of suspicious activity. According to a police report, the resident told officers that while she was at work a neighbor called her to tell her about something out of the ordinary that happened in her driveway. Neighbors saw a black Acura sedan in the driveway and a white male was taking photos of the house. The neighbors confronted the man who told them that he was with “the bank” and was taking photos of the house for foreclosure purposes. The report states when the neighbor questioned the man further, he refused to answer questions and became nervous. The man left and drove down Covington to another house’s driveway. The report states the homeowner called her landlord who told her there was no foreclosure on the property. The man taking pictures was described as being in his 40s with graying brown hair. He was wearing thin-rimmed glasses and carrying a small black camera.
