Police Briefs Nov. 10

November 10, 2017 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

_ 1508 S. Rugby Place: On Tuesday morning police were dispatched to the address regarding a burglary in progress. According to a police report, the complainant said that a white male was loading items into a red Pontiac Grand Prix which was leaving the scene. Police saturated the area but couldn’t find the vehicle. The report states that police went to the house and found that the front door had been forced open. Once the house was cleared by officers, an investigator responded and spoke with the complainant, witnesses and the homeowner. Witnesses described the suspect carrying the items into the car as a thin white man, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. When witnesses confronted the man he jumped into the passenger side of a late model Grad Prix and took off toward South Seminole Drive. According to the report, the suspect and vehicle description were put out on a BOLO (be on the lookout) in Walker, Catoosa and Hamilton Counties.

_ 2005 McBrien Rd.: Police were dispatched to the address shortly after midnight on Wednesday in regard to a suspicious person. According to a police report, when officers arrived they spoke with a woman who owns the home. The woman told police that she, her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend had just come home from a late night grocery store run. When they got home, the woman went inside briefly to prepare the kitchen area for the grocery bags. The report states she left her daughter and her boyfriend in the car playing with their cellphones. When the woman went back outside she immediately saw a white male figure squatting on her front lawn looking as if he was planning on sneaking up on the car. The report states that when the woman saw the man she shouted at him. The man stood and began flailing his arms, she said.  The woman told the man that he needed to leave and the man replied, “I’m Nate, I’m Nate.” The report states that due to the man’s reaction and behavior, the woman believes he may have been under the influence of drugs. The group watched as the man walked toward Greenbrier Road and vanished in among the houses. Attempts to locate the subject were unsuccessful

The report describes the suspect as a thin, white male, about 5-feet, 11-inches tall with short hair. The man was wearing khaki shorts and had prominent tattoos on his arms. The report states that ERPD received a call earlier in the evening about a white male matching this description near McBrien and Clemmons Roads, but police were unable to locate the suspect at that time.
