Taxpayer ‘Fed Up’ with Condition of Roads

August 24, 2022 By Contributed Article 1 Comment

As a homeowner and property taxpayer in East Ridge for the past 34 years, and after numerous complaints to the City of East Ridge Superintendent of Roads, complaints to the East Ridge City Mayor’s Assistant and complaints to the State of Tennessee, I am completely fed up with the potholes, the eroded roadways and especially the roadway at Tombras onto Ringgold Road between Speedway and the Mexican Grocery Store.

East Ridge puts the blame on the state and the state puts the blame on the City of East Ridge. After complaints to the City Council _ who, of course, made all kind of promises to get a vote _ it appears our nice town is turning into another Rossville Boulevard. We all know what that has become….not a welcoming tourist adventure at all.

It appears East Ridge is more concerned with new wide sidewalks and bike lanes than anything that benefits the whole community.
