Tuesday is Deadline for Voter Registration

October 11, 2022 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

Tuesday, October 11, is the deadline to register to vote and be able to cast a ballot in the November 8 municipal, state and federal election, officials said.

Those interested in registering by computer, phone or tablet and have a state issued drivers license can register on line at govotetn.gov.

Voters can download a paper voter registration at same site.. Voters can then submit that in person to the local election commission or mail it. The application must be postmarked by Tuesday.

Tennessee does not have election day registration.

Early voting for the November 8 election begins on October 19 and runs Monday through Saturday until November 3.

The deadline to request an absentee by-mail ballot is November 1.

The November 8 ballot includes the election for Mayor of East Ridge and two City Councilpersons, as well as contests for governor and Congress. All 99 seats in the Tennessee House of Representatives and odd-numbered Tennessee Senate seats are on the ballot.
