The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift September 20

23-011986- 1700 BLK Tombras Avenue- Found Property- The caller advised he found a firearm in the grass at this location. On scene the handgun was found to be stolen out of Red Bank. It was recovered and removed from NCIC. The handgun was put in property.

23-011993- 200 BLK Eads Street- AOA- Police responded with ERFD on an odor investigation. Officers stood by while ERFD handled the call.

No number assigned- Moore Road @ Anderson Avenue- Traffic Stop/AOA Warrant Service- A man was detained on a Hamilton County warrant following a traffic stop.

Night Shift September 20

No Case Number – 3100 Ringgold Road – Traffic Control – Units were sent to Bachman Tunnels several times for commercial vehicles causing traffic hazard. Interstate 24 East and West had multiple crashes necessitating closing it down.

23-012016—3100 Ringgold Road—Traffic Control – Police posted at this location due to influx of tractor trailers attempting to travel through the tunnels into Chattanooga. Police deterred where appropriate to provide continuous flow of traffic.

23-01221 – 1600 BLK Mack Smith Road – Theft-Auto – The victim reported her 1999 Green Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab with duct tape on driver side headlight was stolen from her driveway last night between 2100 hours and 0300 hours this morning. The truck was reported to NCIC as stolen.

23-012022 – 1400 BLK Mack Smith Road – Arrest- Theft – East Ridge Crime Suppression Unit observed a Home Depot Box truck parked behind the restaurant pumping grease into the truck from the restaurant’s used grease bin. Police determined that the suspect did not have permission from the business to collect the grease from the bin. In total it is believed that the suspect collected approximately 100 gallons of grease from this establishment valued at approximately three hundred dollars. However, following a search of the vehicle police located approximately 900 gallons of grease valued in total of approximately $2,700. He was arrested for theft of property, additional charges may follow at the completion of further investigation.
