Police Briefs for Jan. 18

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift January 17

24-00694 -1400 BLK Altamaha Street – Frostbite – Officers responded to assist EMS with a frostbite victim. The victim stated she had been out in the elements all night and was suffering from frostbite on her hands and feet.

24-000707 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – Two female juveniles were issued trespass warning after stealing food and being argumentative with staff.

24-000689 – 4300 BLK Esterbrook Drive – Assist a Citizen – An elderly resident requested assistance in deicing her vehicle’s windscreen so she could make a doctor’s appointment. Assistance was provided in short order.

24-000693 – 4200 BLK Belvoir Drive – Water Main Break – A Water Main break was detected bubbling up through the street. The Streets Department was notified.

24-000696 – 1500 BLK Maxwell Road – Theft – Police responded to Astor Lane to speak with the caller about a stolen and altered check. According to the victim she mailed a check for $10 from the post office mailbox in November and upon checking her bank statements 01/12/2024, discovered it was changed to $500 and made out to a party she did not know.

24-000702- 3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Theft – Loss prevention reported a woman had stolen an estimated $40 worth of merchandise over the past several days. He stated this has been an ongoing problem. He stated the business wanted to have her identified properly, issued a trespass warning, and charged accordingly.

Night Shift January 16

24-000723 – 5400 BLK Marion Avenue – Mentally Disturbed – Police responded to a disorder and found a party was having a mental health crisis. The patient was transported for a mental health evaluation.

24-000717 – 4100 BLK East Ridge Drive– Well Being Check – Police conducted a welfare check on a party after her roommate reported odd behavior and comments. Police located her at the residence. She denied any thoughts or plans to hurt herself.

24-000718 – 700 BLK Germantown Circle – Miscellaneous Complaint – Officers responded to this address after a caller advised his car door was slightly ajar and his neighbor’s car alarm was going off. The caller advised police he did not see anyone outside with the vehicles. Officers observed no signs of attempted forced entry on either vehicle and both parties advised nothing appeared missing.
