May 1 Police Briefs

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift April 30

24-005450 – 100 I75 Northbound – Disorder – Police were dispatched to a crash with a possible disorder. The caller advised dispatch the other party was trying to pull him out of his truck. The reporting party was uncooperative with the officers and told them that the other driver had hit his mirror. Police found no evidence of a crash and the other driver stated he did not hit the other truck. Dashcam was reviewed and no evidence of any collision was found. All parties left the scene with no further incident.

24-005448 – 1500 BLK Tombras Avenue – Suspicious Activity – Approximately 8-10 youths were shooting “airsoft” rifles in the park at each other. The youths had been warned the day prior and today to go to another area and have fun. They were also informed the next time, the “airsoft” rifles would be confiscated. The items were found to be gel orb guns.

24-005449 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Rd – Disorder/Alleged Assault – Employees reported a juvenile customer was assaulted by an adult female after a verbal altercation. Police spoke with the adult party who claimed the juvenile was the aggressor and she was defending herself but declined prosecution. Staff requested prosecution against the adult despite not being the juvenile’s guardian/parent. Police are awaiting video surveillance to determine a primary aggressor.

Night Shift April 30

24-005461 – 3800 BLK Ringgold Road – Assist Other Agency – A man was taken into custody on six outstanding warrants through Sessions Court following a traffic stop.

24-005471 – 1500 BLK McBrien Road – Assist Other Agency – A woman was taken into custody for a warrant for Theft of Services out of Sessions Court following a traffic stop.

24-005467 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – DUI / Crash – Police were working an unrelated crash and were notified of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle nearby. Police contacted the driver, and determined she was so intoxicated that it was unsafe to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. She was arrested for DUI and Open Container Law.

24-005464 – MM 1, I-75 Southbound – Public Intoxication – Police arrested a man for public intoxication when he was found staggering on the side of the interstate. He had the odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Officers also found that his red Nissan Xterra had a flat tire and had been parked on the interstate shoulder earlier in the day. The vehicle was towed per the owner’s request.

24-005458 – 1517 Tombras Avenue – Warrant Service – A woman was taken into custody for an East Ridge alias capias (Possession of Methamphetamine) warrant following her scheduled appearance in court. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
