Police Briefs for Oct. 24

Day Shift October 23

24-013557 – 1600 BLK Prater Road – Violation Order of Protection – Warrants are being sought to arrest a man for Violation Order of Protection, Vandalism, Aggravated Criminal Trespass, and Aggravated Assault after he arrived at his estranged wife’s current residence and repeatedly hit her vehicle with a hammer.

24-013562 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Theft – The victim reported a check she had mailed earlier this week at the post office had been altered for a much larger amount. The victim did not have any suspect information.

24-013573 – 3900 BLK South Mission Oaks Drive – Wire Fraud – The resident was scammed out of $24,000 investing in what he believed was crypto currency.

Night Shift October 23

24-013583 – 5400 BLK Oakdale Avenue – Narcotics Violation / Arrest – Police located a vehicle that fled from a traffic stop earlier in the week. Officers stopped the vehicle as it pulled up to a residence on Oakdale Avenue. The driver was identified and was found to be in possession of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded firearm. She was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

24-013579 – 5300 BLK Spriggs Street – Suspicious Activity / Motor Vehicle Crash – Police responded to the report of an individual riding a dirt bike on the street. Police located the motorcycle and initiated a traffic stop. The dirt bike initially continued down the road but turned around to meet with officers. In the process, the rider lost control and crashed into a patrol vehicle. No injuries were reported.

24-013578 – 3200 BLK Ardian Road – Domestic Disorder – Police responded to a Domestic Disorder between a woman and her boyfriend. He was not on-scene and police found the disorder occurred earlier in the day. Officers also found evidence of a domestic assault that has occurred in Lafayette, GA, and the Lafayette Police Department was notified.

24-013582 – 1300 BLK Ridgefield Circle – Traffic Stop / Assist Other Agency – Police conducted a traffic stop after observing unusual behavior among the vehicle occupants. One party was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant through Hamilton County Sessions Court.

24-013581 – 5800 BLK Wentworth Avenue – Assist Other Agency – Police responded to a report of an unconscious pregnant female. Officers provided immediate care until EMS arrived. No illegal activity was found.
