UPDATE: Son Charged with Criminal Homicide in Killing of his Father

December 20, 2024 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

UPDATE: East Ridge Police have charged Caleb Disterdick with Criminal Homicide in connection with the death of his father, Jason Disterdick.

On Friday, police said that the victim was 52-years-old and was originally from Conway, Arkansas. Police said that his son Caleb had moved into the house on Greenslake Road in February of this year. Police are not sure if the elder Disterdick lived in the house or not.

Officials are not releasing details of the circumstances surrounding the death or the cause of death. Assistant Police Chief Josh Creel said the cause of death would be officially determined after an autopsy being done by the medical examiner’s office.

Chief Creel said Friday that when officers arrived at the house, Caleb Disterdick made statements that immediately led officers to the victim.

East Ridge Police took a man into custody on Thursday afternoon in regard to a killing on Greenslake Road.

According to a press release, at 5 p.m., officers responded to a potential assault in the 1400 block of Greenslake Road. When they arrived they found a man in the front of home covered in blood without apparent injury. He was immediately detained.

Officers then found the victim in the house who was declared dead at the scene.

The suspect, Caleb Disterdick, 26, was taken into custody after he was cleared medically. Charges are pending against the man.

The press release states there is no danger to the public, as this killing appears to be an isolated incident.
