April 5, 2016 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

_ 5908 Graston Ave.: Police were dispatched to the address on Thursday night on a domestic violence complaint. According to a police report, when officers arrived they spoke with a woman who “was crying and out of breath.” When officers asked why the woman was crying she told them that she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, who was berating her with vulgarities in front of two children. The woman said that she took the two children into a back bedroom to separate them from her boyfriend, who came into the bedroom and punched a hole in the wall. According to the report, the boyfriend told the woman that he was leaving, and she went to the front door to obtain a debit card and car seat out of the couple’s only vehicle before he left. The woman told officers that she was standing in the doorway when the boyfriend grabbed her and flung her from the doorway onto a couch. The woman told police that her boyfriend continued to sling her around the room. The report states that officers observed red marks on the woman’s body consistent with being manhandled. The woman told police that her boyfriend then “stood on her upper chest/neck and pressed his body weight down on her upper chest region which caused her to have difficulty breathing.” The woman told officers that her boyfriend grabbed her neck with both hands and choked her. The woman, the report states, was at some point able to bite the man and get free. The boyfriend had left the scene before police arrived, the report states. The woman was treated at the scene by EMS and East Ridge Fire Rescue. Warrants are being sought for Aggravated Domestic Assault against the man.
