Law and Order October 14

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift October 9: A Squad

25-010667 – 1500 BLK Tombras Ave – Disorder – Police responded to Pioneer Park after reports of a group of teenagers were involved in an altercation. All parties involved left the area prior to police arrival.

Night Shift October 9: C Squad

25-010686 – 3700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity / Warrant Service – Police Officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the former grocery store. Police located a man in the vehicle and determined he had an arrest warrant through the City of East Ridge for Driving on a Revoked License. The party was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

25-010688 – I-24 Westbound, MM 184, Chattanooga – Assist Other Agency – East Ridge Police Officers responded to a vehicle fire on I-24 Westbound in Chattanooga. On scene, East Ridge Police Officers directed traffic and assisted the Chattanooga Fire Department within containing the incident, reference CPD 25-089002.

25-010687 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue– Domestic Disorder – Police Officers responded to a Suspicious Activity complaint at the apartments. Police quickly determined that several incidents occurred throughout the day in the apartment. The most significant was a Domestic Assault involving a man and his ex-girlfriend. Based on the evidence, Police secured an arrest warrant on the charge of Domestic Assault. ERPD also found that a small animal had died for no apparent reason. East Ridge Animal Services was notified, and the investigation is on-going.

25-010689 – 500 BLK Layfield – Assist Other Agency – The Collegedale Police Department requested assistance in locating an Aggravated Assault suspect. East Ridge Police went to the suspect’s home and detained him without incident. The wanted party was transported to Hamilton County Jail where Collegedale Police Officers took custody of him.

25-010226 – 5400 BLK Oakdale Avenue – Warrant Service – Following a well-being check, Police determined that the female subject had several active warrants through the City of East Ridge. She was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail. The charges on the warrants were Driving Under the Influence, Driving on a Revoked License, Failure to Exercise Due Care, Failure to Maintain Lane, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Theft of Property Over $2,500, and Obstructing a Highway.

25-010697 – 800 BLK Summit Avenue– Assist Other Agency – The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the East Ridge Police Department in locating a missing person. Deputies provided a potential location in East Ridge. Police went to an address provided and found the party was staying with a friend. She explained that she stayed in East Ridge on a regular basis due to its proximity to her friends and her doctor’s office.

25-010698 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road– Citizen Assist – A party called the 911 Dispatch Center and requested help for a medical emergency. Police responded to the scene and located her in her motel room. Due to traffic conditions, EMS was unable to respond to the motel, so Police transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

Day Shift October 10: B Squad

25-010706- 6700 Jordan Run/Eads St- Suspicious Activity – A passerby requested a paper bag be checked on due to it being placed on top of the sign at the entrance of subdivision. Upon examination, the bag was deemed as a forgotten Door Dash delivery from McDonalds and left at this location in the event the customer remembered the order and wanted to pick it up later.

25-010708 – 3600 BLK Missionaire Ave – Property Damage – The reporting party stated her estranged husband came to her residence in the early morning hours wanting to have a conversation about their relationship. She stated when she refused entry, he reached through a broken window in the door (he had broken approximately 5 weeks prior) to unlock the door and cut himself leaving blood all over the doors and ground. When his attempts were unsuccessful to unlock the door, he kicked it in and busted the frame. The complainant was provided with information for obtaining an order of protection and the incident was documented in case of any future issues.

25-010717 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Rd– Violation of Order of Protection – Police were notified by the protected party that the suspect again messaged him again at 3:15PM after failing to show up to court for a temporary order of protection which was extended to an order of protection. The messages were viewed and recorded by police as evidence. The suspect was located at the referenced address and charged with violating an order of protection. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail.

25-010720 – 4300 BLK Duvall Street – Open Door/Animal Call/Codes Violation – Employees with the East Ridge Community Center observed a small black dog possibly get struck by a vehicle and run to this address. When the employees arrived, they located the animal inside the home, and the front door was completely open with the lights activated. Police arrived and conducted a well-being check of the residents due to the poor condition of the home. While searching the home, police did not locate the owner but did observe piles of empty alcoholic beverage containers and possible structural issues to the home. Codes responded to document the issues. Dispatch was able to contact the owner, who requested police to secure the front door.

Night Shift October 10: D Squad

25-010728 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Well Being Check – Police responded to the above address after a concerned citizen reported a person was lying on the sidewalk. Officers contacted the woman who advised that she was fine and that she was taking a nap. She departed the area after speaking with officers.

Day Shift October 11: B Squad

225-010736- 700 BLK Bacon Trail- Auto Theft – Police responded to a report of a stolen 2017 Kia Soul that had been involved in a pursuit with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and later found abandoned. The vehicle owner stated it was last seen the previous evening around 9 pm and discovered it was missing the following morning. THP reported the suspect as a male wearing dark clothing, and warrants for theft are pending identification.

25-010742- 1000 BLK Hibbler Circle- Trespassing/ Extra Patrol – A property owner reported that neighbors observed lights on and a shadow inside a residence he owns that is currently under construction earlier in the morning. He requested officers check the property, and no one was located inside. Later in the day, he reported discovering several items missing from the residence that he had not noticed earlier. The owner wished to pursue burglary charges if a suspect is identified and requested extra patrols in the area during the night.

Night Shift October 11: D Squad

25-010758 – 20 BLK Crescent Park – Shots Fired – Police checked the area following reports of shots being fired.

25-010764-6400 BLK Ringgold Rd-Disorder – Police were patrolling the area of the above address when the manager flagged them down. The manager requested ERPD remove an unruly customer from the property and have them trespassed. Upon further investigation, other patrons in the store reported the female customer had assaulted them. Police did not observe any evidence of the alleged assault. The female was informed of her trespass, and a report was made for the alleged assault.

Night Shift October 12: D Squad

25-010786 – 4300 BLK – Traffic Stop / Arrest – Following a traffic stop, a woman was found to have multiple ERPD warrants for forfeiture capias. She was transported on those warrants to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-010787-941 Spring Creek Road – Distress Alarm – Police received a distress alarm from the nurses’ station. It was determined that a burglary suspect from a call in Chattanooga was in the hospital, causing a disorder. The suspect was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained from the incident in Chattanooga. ERPD stood by while officers from CPD conducted their investigation.

25-010790 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant – A subject was taken into custody by Catoosa County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Catoosa County Jail, where he is being held for extradition by East Ridge Police on a warrant for Aggravated Criminal Trespass.

Day Shift October 13: A Squad

25-010795 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road – Domestic Assault – A woman showed up to the shop and requested EMS, initially stating she injured her hip in a fall. Once medics arrived, she confided that an unknown male she met on a dating app beat her, possibly at a residence in East Ridge. An officer observed significant bruising consistent with her allegations. Pending identification of the suspect, a warrant for Domestic Assault will be sought.

25-010810 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant for Assault and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

Night Shift October 13: C Squad

25-010814 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Focused Speed Enforcement – The ERPD Traffic Unit conducted a targeted speed enforcement operation around 900 Spring Creek Road. The operation resulted in ten traffic stops and the issuing of multiple citations. The noted traffic violations included speeding, illegal window tint, registration infractions, and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.

25-010816 – 1400 BLK Adonna Lane – Disorder – Police responded to a verbal disorder between several neighbors at this location. After speaking with the subjects involved, officers determined the homeowner at this address did not like her neighbors walking on the road in front of the property. Police explained the concept of public roadways and the freedom of speech before leaving the area.

25-010829 – 400 BLK Donaldson Road – Warrant Service / Search Warrant – Police Officers attempted to execute an arrest warrant at this address. The subject had arrest warrants through Hamilton County and East Ridge for the Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale. The man’s mother refused to open the door and provided conflicting statements on her son’s whereabouts. During the interaction, Police observed several signs indicating the subject was recently at home. Officers obtained a Search Warrant for the residence through the Hamilton County Magistrate. The search warrant was executed; however, the fugitive was not located.
