_ 1517 Tombras Ave.: An East Ridge police officer was approached by several female juveniles on Monday evening who told him that an assault had just occurred at Pioneer Frontier playground. According to a police report, the girls told the officer that the attacker had dropped his keys and turned them over to the officer. While walking to the scene, the police officer spoke with two East Ridge firefighters who told him that they witnessed the fight and broke it up. The firefighters pointed out the victim of the assault, a boy who was wearing pink shorts. The victim told the officer that he was approached by a male juvenile who attacked him. The boy said he tried to defend himself. The report states that the officer saw bloody scrapes on the boy’s knees, right elbow and right hand. In addition, the boy said his forehead was swelling. The victim explained to police that the other boy attacked him because he is dating the boy’s ex-girlfriend, who was there and witnessed the attack. The girl gave police the name of the 15-year-old suspect, who purportedly lives behind East Ridge High School and is a freshman at Lakeview High.
_ 302 Dunlap Ave.: Police responded to a burglary call at the address on Monday. According to a police report, officers spoke with the victim who said that the burglar must have gotten into the house through the sliding glass doors on the deck. The woman said two televisions were taken. Also taken was a file folder of important papers including her child’s birth certificate and a money order. The woman told officers that she suspects her ex-boyfriend, whom she had broken off the relationship with a few days ago, is behind the break-in and theft. The report states that the woman had spoken with him over the phone and he had threatened her. The woman told police that the suspect told her that if he couldn’t be with her no one can. The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her in the pas and has a criminal history. She said that the ex-boyfriend beat up her sister and is active in gang activity. The report states that the she was afraid to provide his personal information and was frightened to spend the night at her place. A message was written on a dry erase board on the refrigerator stating: “U know what it is it’s fair game.” The woman believes her ex-boyfriend was the author of the note.
_ 6510 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the 4A’s Inn last week in regards to a female using methamphetamine. According to a police report, when the officer arrived he spoke with a witness who said that Hannah Ashley Vannice came to the motel and wanted to talk to someone. The witness told the officer that Vannice went into a restroom in the motel for about 45 minutes and when she came out she was high. The witness told police that Vannice admitted to having meth in her possession and to having used the drug. The report states that officers spoke with Vannice who told them that she shot up meth a couple hours previous to their encounter. The woman gave police permission to search her purse, where, according to the report, they found a needle, spoon and a plastic wrapper with a crystallized substance believed to be “ice” methamphetamine. Also discovered was an eyeglass case containing suspected hydrocodone and clonazapam. The report states that the white powder was field tested and the test was positive for meth. Vannice, 25, and a resident of Flintstone, Ga., was arrested and charged with various drug charges. She is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on May 10.
