A Letter to the Citizens of East Ridge

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Serving as your East Ridge City Court Clerk for the past 12 years has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. As I ask for your support for another term, I’ve spent time reflecting on what those years have meant—not just to me, but to the community I have been honored to serve.

When I first took office, I made a commitment to do more than simply manage the responsibilities entrusted to me. My goal was to leave this office stronger than I found it.

I believe there is an important difference between managing an office and improving one.

Managing means keeping things running.

Improving means asking every day, “How can we serve the public better?”

Throughout my time in office, I have tried to ask that question every day.

When I saw opportunities to improve communication with other agencies, I integrated our court with the Hamilton County court system.

When I saw citizens struggling to meet their court obligations, I implemented payment plans that have helped many people regain their driving privileges and return to work while remaining accountable to the court.

When I recognized opportunities to strengthen financial stewardship, our office collected more than $1.26 million in court fines and costs over the past four years, while also implementing a professional collection agency to recover additional delinquent accounts at no cost to the City.

When courtroom operations needed to evolve, I reintroduced WebEx appearances to improve courtroom security while increasing efficiency and accessibility.

When I saw our office could better serve the future, I began transitioning our records to searchable digital files so citizens can receive faster, more efficient service and important records can be preserved for generations to come.

Looking back, I realize these improvements all stemmed from the same philosophy.

I didn’t just manage the office—I improved it.

I didn’t just identify challenges—I worked to solve them.

I didn’t just rely on experience—I turned experience into measurable results.

Those aren’t campaign slogans. They are the principles that have guided every decision I have made over the past 12 years.

Public service is more than holding a title. It is about accepting responsibility, earning trust, and leaving an organization better than you found it. That has always been my goal.

I know there is still work to do, and I remain just as committed today as I was when I first took office. I will continue looking for ways to improve efficiency, embrace responsible innovation, protect taxpayer resources, and provide the professional service the citizens of East Ridge deserve.

Experience matters—but only when it is used to make a difference.

As you consider your vote, I simply ask that you look at my record. Consider the improvements we have made together, the challenges we have overcome, and the results we have achieved.
