COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. _ Collegedale Parks & Recreation will host a special community remembrance program on Friday, September 11, 2026, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. 

 

The program, titled “We Remember – 25 Years of Honor, Courage & Unity,” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. inside Founders Hall at The Commons, located at 4750 Swinyar Drive in Collegedale. 

 

The community is invited to join together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders and military members, and reflect on the strength and unity that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy. 

 

“Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives that were changed forever on September 11,” said Christina Clark, Parks & Recreation Supervisor for the City of Collegedale. “This program provides an opportunity for our community to pause, remember, honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and recognize the courage of those who responded. Most importantly, it reminds us of the strength we find when we stand together.” 

 

The program schedule will include the presentation of colors, bell ringing and moments of silence, first responder recognition, a community speaker, musical tributes, a community tribute, and multiple local entities including first responders and local schools. 

 

The bell ceremonies throughout the program will serve as solemn moments of remembrance corresponding with the times the attacks occurred at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. 

 

The City of Collegedale encourages residents, families, veterans, first responders, and community members to attend this meaningful ceremony and join in remembrance.
