_ 3414 Bennett Rd.: Police were called to the address last week on an attempted burglary call. According to a police report, the homeowner told officers that she heard her wind chime on her screen door and got up to check her front door at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night. She told officers that when she pulled the curtain back on the door to look out, she saw a man standing at her door wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The report states that the woman saw the man raise his leg to kick the door in and she began screaming. The man kicked the door in and debris hit the woman as she stood nearby. The woman told officers that she “displayed” a .22-cal firearm and told the suspect she had a weapon as she pushed the door closed to force the suspect away. The woman told police that she tried to fire the weapon and it did not discharge. The report states that the suspect began screaming and initially ran north, only to turn around and take off south toward Shadowlawn Drive. The woman told police she tried to fire the weapon again as the suspect was running. The weapon did not fire a second time, the report states. The suspect is described as a man, about 5-feet, 7-inches tall with a slender build. He is about 20 years old and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and possibly tan pants.  The report states that police observed a footprint on the door consistent with a smaller size tennis shoe. The door frame was damaged and the hinge was located on the other side of the living room along with parts of a door panel. Photos were collected and a BOLO on the suspect was forwarded to the Chattanooga Police Department.

_ 3801 Kingwood Circle: Police were dispatched to the address Saturday night on a domestic assault in progress. According to a police report, while en route officers were told that the a male party was on the scene assaulting a woman in the driveway. Police arrived and made contact with the victim who was bleeding from her right knee and left ankle. When asked by officers to tell them what happened, the woman told them she was at the Walgreen’s on Ringgold Road and her ex-boyfriend, Cody Hill, approached her and jumped on top of her vehicle. She told officers she asked Hill to stop but he got in the car and pulled a knife and pushed it toward her and told her to drive. The woman told officers she feared for her life and did as she was told. She said that she drove to “the closest house she knew of” and tried to run inside. The report states that the woman said that Hill then grabbed her and threw her down on a concrete walkway. The report states that the male resident of the house came out after hearing the altercation and tried to get Hill off of the victim. Hill then allegedly grabbed a liquor bottle and swung it at the man attempting to give aid. The resident’s grandmother then called police for help and Hill took off in the direction of Bennett Road. The report states that the victim told officers that Hill has an active warrant for domestic assault issued by East Ridge in connection with assaulting the victim previously at another location. The victim told officers that is the reason that Hill was upset with her and approached her at Walgreen’s. The report states that ERPD will seek an additional warrant for Hill for Aggravated Domestic Assault.

_ 730 Germantown Circle: Police were called to the address recently on a burglary. According to a police report, the resident told officers he left for breakfast only to return to his apartment and find his door unsecured and a broken sliding glass door. Burglars had taken a large television from the living room and a smaller TV from the bedroom along with $50 in change. The victim also reported that the burglar had stolen two handguns and $200 cash from his bedroom.
