I Am An East Ridge Optimist

September 16, 2015 By Dick Cook and Contributed Article 0 Comments

I am proud to be an East Ridge Optimist. I am writing this post for a number of reasons. First, and foremost, to further honor our men and women that sacrifice daily for our freedoms and safety.

This past Monday, The East Ridge Optimist Club sponsored a 911 luncheon at the East Ridge Community Center honoring our Fire and Police Officers.

I want to share an email from East Ridge Parks and Recreation Director Stump Martin and his wife Debbie:

“The 911 Luncheon was again a grand slam! Just want to let you folks know how proud Deb and I are to be a part of the East Ridge Optimist Club. It’s a special  group of people who go overboard to make a difference. Every time I believe the club has knocked a home run it comes back and hits one farther the next time. On behalf of Deb and East Ridge parks and recreation thanks for allow all of us to be  involved in YOU making a difference.”

What an honor it is to belong to an organization that so willingly gives to the community and it’s citizens. The East Ridge Optimist Club is a great organization with caring, wonderful folks giving their time and resources to make our community, city and life better.

We are a small but, proud group of dedicated individuals that work together to make positive life changes for our fellow man. If you are looking to be part of a great organization please, take the time and visit one of our meetings. We meet every second and fourth Tuesday at the East Ridge Community Center at 6:30 pm.

Please, mark your calendars and visit one of our meetings or contact me via email at johntilley@epbfi.com  for more information. These is no better feeling or enjoyment then giving of one’s self for the betterment of others. And by the way, you don’t have to live in East Ridge to belong to our organization.

You to can become Optimist Proud!
