Lady Pioneers Continue Winning Ways

The East Ridge girls’ soccer team remains undefeated, picking up its fifth win of the season with an 8-1 drubbing of Sweetwater, Sunday at Camp Jordan.

Lucy Lopez and Helen Sales each scored two goals for the Lady Pioneers, who move to 5-0 on the year. Rebecca Mendez, Ana Stanford and Sarah Hudgens each had a goal. Sales was credited with two assists in the game, while Ana Villegas and Joy Crawford had one assist each.

East Ridge out-shot its opponents, 15-2, and Hudgens recorded a save.

Sweetwater’s lone goal was  compliments of Mackenzie Sprankle.

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
