A man who had been jailed on Super Bowl Sunday for violating his probation was taken into custody on Monday afternoon after he drove an allegedly stolen vehicle to the police department to claim his belongings from the property division.
According to a department “pass along” report, Daniel Sisco, 36, of a Forrest Pond address in Harrison, Tenn., came to the department to get personal belonging that the department was holding for him while he was in the clink. After giving his name to a records clerk, staff realized Sisco had an active warrant for car theft charges that had just been entered into the computer system. Officers were able to take him into custody.
To wrap the incident up in a bow for law enforcement, the allegedly stolen car was recovered, as Sisco drove it to the police department. The report states the vehicle owner came to the Fire and Services Center to claim his stolen vehicle.

1713 Tombras Ave.: Police were called to the address on Friday in regard to an assault. According to an affidavit of complaint, police spoke with a woman who said that her daughter, Angelina Juan, assaulted her and her young grandchild before fleeing the scene. The victim told police that Juan came home “throwing a fit” and arguing with her over random things. The report states that the argument escalated and Juan slapped the grandchild, who is paralyzed from a bone disease, in the face multiple times. The victim told police that Juan then tried to take the victim’s purse, breaking the victim’s finger in the process. Police called EMS and ERFD to the scene. EMS advised the victim to go to the hospital for X-rays. The grandchild was cleared of any serious injuries from the incident.
While police were still on the scene, Juan returned to the house and was taken into custody. Juan, 44 of 1713 Tombras Ave., was taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on charges of Domestic Assault and Child Abuse relating to the incident. She was also charged with Criminal Trespassing and Harassment on an unrelated incident. She is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on March 19.
_ 3615 Weldon Dr.: Police were called to the address on Monday in regard to an auto theft. According to a department “pass along” report, the victim told an officer that his neighbor saw someone drive off in his 2007 Mazda 3 series. The vehicle was entered into a law enforcement data base as stolen.
_ 3728 Ringgold Rd.: Police went to East Ridge Cab on Monday where a man reported his vehicle had been broken into. A department report notes that officers saw a passenger side window had been broken out with a rock. Nothing was missing from the car.
_ 6700 block of Ringgold Rd.: On Monday a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Justin Gass for Possession of Methamphetamine. The 36-year-old Gass gave a Wildwood, Georgia address when he was booked into the Hamilton County Jail.
_ 5400 Marion Ave.: On Monday Anel Sahbaz was arrested by East Ridge Police. Sahbaz, 29, of an Athea Avenue, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a single charge of Domestic Assault.
_ 6600 Ringgold Rd.: Following a traffic stop on Monday, ERPD arrested James Middleton on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving without a License. According to booking reports from the jail, Middleton is 35-years-old and lives on Boynton Drive in Ringgold, Georgia.
_ 929 Spring Creek Rd.: Police responded to Parkridge East on Monday in regard to a child being locked in a car. According to a department report, a woman said she accidentally locked her 11-month-old child in her vehicle. East Ridge firefighters responded and gained access to the inside of the car and free the child.
