Car Crash Shuts Down Ringgold Road

UPDATE: According to East Ridge Police, the driver of the car that crashed Sunday morning on Ringgold Road was identified as Tristian Garrett of Cleveland, Tenn. As of Sunday afternoon, Garrett remained hospitalized with minor injuries. Officials said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A Sunday morning car crash has sent one person to the hospital and shut down Ringgold Road.

The accident happened at about 8 a.m. in the 3300 block of Ringgold Road. East Ridge firefighters worked to extricate the trapped driver of the car, which landed on its top and brought down a power pole. Life Guard EMS took the victim to a local hospital.

Workers from EPB was on the scene to “kill” the power to the poles and allow emergency workers to help the motorist and clear the scene.
