Police Briefs for Oct. 2

_ 3326 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station last Saturday on a reported robbery from business. According to a police report, the store clerk told officers that a black male was walking around outside the store at the gas pumps, then pulled a dark piece of clothing over the bottom of his face before entering. The man came inside, pulled a large, black, semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the clerk. The report states that the suspect demanded money and reached across the counter to grab currency from the register. The suspect then exited the store and  removed the cover over his face while still in view of video surveillance cameras. The suspect got between $700 and $800 from the robbery, the report states. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, with a “high and tight” haircut. He was wearing a dark blue full-zip hoodie, dark colored baggy pants and dark tennis shoes. He had at least one earring in his right ear, the report states.

_ 6006 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Party Mart last week on a hold up alarm. According to a police report, officers were told prior to arrival that the suspect had fled East toward the Taco Bell. Officers were met by the victim/owner, who told them that a black male came into the store, produced a firearm and demanded that the owner open the cash drawer. After forking over about $700, the owner was ordered to the ground by the suspect. The owner told officers that he did not have any video surveillance system in the business. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, weighing about 185 pounds. He had on a blue hoodie, blue jeans and was wearing a black mask with green stripes. He also had on a pair of gloves, the report states. Officers canvased the area but were unable to find the suspect.

_ 4340 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Food Lion, Tuesday night, on a reported theft. According to a police report, the manager of the store told them that he had caught a man stealing merchandise out the back door via video surveillance. The video shows the suspect leaving through the back door carrying one of the trash cans from the restroom. The report states that the manager investigated and found items from the store in the restroom sink along with a grocery cart. He told officers he believed the suspect loaded up the cart, took it to the restroom and then unloaded the cart’s contents into a garbage can inside the restroom. He then placed the can outside the back door. The report states that the manager will provide police with the full video of the incident.

_ 926 Belvoir: Police were called to the address on Monday to investigate an assault in progress. According to a police report, when officers arrived they saw the suspect, later identified as Peyton Gunter fleeing on foot. Officers spoke with the victim who told them that she was the mother of Gunter’s three-month old son. She told police that the Gunter had become upset with her over returning clothing items of the child’s to the store. The victim said that she was going to her aunt’s house on Fountain Avenue and Gunter had hit her twice on the right side of the face. The report states that officers saw the woman had a swollen eye. At the aunt’s house, the victim told police that Gunter grabbed her and tried to burn her on the arm with a cigarette while the woman was holding the child. The victim told police that Gunter shoved her to the ground while she was holding the child then kicked her several times. She told police that Gunter has a history of assaulting her. The woman declined medical treatment. The report states that warrants will be issued for Gunter’s arrest on charges of Domestic Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
