The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

June 23 Day Shift

4300 Ringgold Road (suspicious activity):

Police made contact with Larry V. who was observed approaching multiple vehicles in the area. The man claimed to be asking for a ride. He was transported to 23rd Street in Chattanooga. (21-008884)

Greenslake Road at Stateline Road (well-being check):

Police made contact with James H., and elderly homeless man, who requested a ride to Chattanooga. He was transported to Westside Drive. (21-00885)

 Night Shift

5420 Connell Street / Domestic Assault:

Two juvenile males were transported to Hamilton County Juvenile Justice Center on domestic assault charges.  21-008912

3525 Sunrise Terrace / Theft From Motor Vehicle:

Person(s) unknown stole tools, ladders, and paint from a Dodge pickup parked at this location.  21-008914

400 S. Moore Road / Arrest-Warrant:

Travis Rivers was arrested on an Aggravated Assault warrant out of East Ridge.  21-008919

18300 Interstate 24 EB / Assist Motorist:

Motorist requested assistance with fuel.  Fuel was put in vehicle and went on it way.  21-008922

6725 Ringgold Road, Chattanooga Mercantile / Suspicious Activity:

An employee of said business reported hearing noises that sound like someone pulling on a back door attempting to get in.  Nothing located.  21-008931

3200 Gleason Drive / Evading:

A white sedan with Utah registration fled at a high rate of speed from police when attempting to initiate a stop.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
