Sept. 3 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

Sept. 1 Day Shift

3100 Ringgold Road (suspicious person):

Police responded to the area after multiple callers reported observing a white male standing on top of the tunnel while handling the kudzu. Officers made contact with the individual who lived nearby and stated he decided to explore above the tunnels after having a couple of drinks at home. He was checked for warrants and advised to return to his home. (21-012598)

802 McHann Drive (auto theft):

The resident contacted police after discovering someone stole his 1993 GMC Sierra overnight. The vehicle was left unlocked and had the key broke off in the ignition switch. (21-012578)

Night Shift

6519 Ringgold Rd (Overdose 21-012606):

Police responded with Fire and EMS on an overdose. Officers located a male subject unresponsive in the floor of a motel room at Super 8. One dose of Narcan was administered by police. He was transported for treatment by EMS.

1014 Spring Creek Rd (Unwanted Party 21-012611):

A man had been begging for clothes and food near Spring Creek Elementary School. He was checked for warrants and told to leave the property.

1500 McBrien Rd (Arrest 21-012616):

Stephanie Rachels was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

5700 Roper St (Disorder/Arrest 21-012623):

Police responded to a disorder at New Castle Apartments. Officers arrived and spoke with a man and Dynasty McMillian, who stated the disorder was verbal only. McMillian was subsequently taken into custody for false reporting after she initially tried to hide the man’s location from police. McMillian made a number of false statements and had encouraged the man to jump from a second story balcony to avoid contact with police.

1503 McDonald Rd (Arrest 21-012626):

Police responded to reports of a male party breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of The Waverly. Officers encountered Michael Kent as he was exiting a room. Multiple parties stated Kent had entered at least one vehicle and threatened to kill several witnesses. Officers attempted to detain Kent and he became actively resistant. Kent was tased and taken into custody. He was charged with burglary, two counts of assault, resisting arrest, public intoxication, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
