Walmart Gives Grant to ERPD

The East Ridge Police Department received a grant from Wal-Mart in the amount of $1500.00 and used the money to purchase over 40 trauma kits and tourniquets for police officers.

According to a press release from Chief J.R. Reed, the kits include an emergency trauma dressing, a gauze dressing, and a glove kit as well as the tourniquet. The kits will be carried by the officers to aid themselves or others that might receive a traumatic injury.

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
