Officers Catch Suspected Burglar After Foot Chase

East Ridge police arrested a man Sunday after being called to a “burglary in progress.”

According to a press release from the department, ERPD responded to 5618 B Clemons Road on a report of a residential burglary in progress. The first officer on the scene, found damage to the rear door and observed a man running from the rear of the house into the woods.

That officer and other responding officers gave chase on foot, and caught the suspect in the wooded area around Springvale Park.

The suspect, Gregory Mark Chandler, 41, of Ringgold, was charged with aggravated burglary, evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft.
