Brush Pit to Open; Bulk Item Collection Temporarily Suspended

April 13, 2020 By Dick Cook and Contributed Article 0 Comments

Due to the overnight storms that swept through parts of Hamilton County, including East Ridge, City Administration will be temporarily suspending the collection of bulk items by sanitation workers in order for staff to focus on the clean up of the debris left behind in our residential areas.

The City will also open the brush pit, located behind Parkridge East Hospital on Yale Street, for citizens to bring their own storm debris for drop-off. This is only open for East Ridge residents and proof of residency will be needed such as a picture ID that includes your address. The brush pit had been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For those citizens that have bulk items that need to be dropped off, the City will again open the bulk item drop-off, located next to the brush pit. To drop items off at the bulk item collection location, residents must show proof of residency.

Hours of operation for the brush pit and bulk item drop-off are Monday-Friday 6:30 am – 2:30 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. As a reminder, City codes state that any commercial business that specializes in trees/debris removal is responsible for removal of debris and not left at residential curbs for City collection.
