Carter Identified as Victim in Hit and Run

The victim of the fatal hit and run that occurred in East Ridge Friday has been identified as Darryl Carter, 51, of the Chattanooga area.

Police are looking for the driver of a 2013-2015 Nissan Sentra with damage to the front. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the East Ridge Police Department at 423.622.1725, or anonymously at the Confidential Tip-Line at423.867.0016.

The incident happened on Christmas night on Ringgold Road near Blackhawk Trail, officials said. Carter was apparently crossing Ringgold Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east bound. Parts of the car were recovered at the scene and were examined by police to determine make and model
