The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 9:50 pm on Saturday in the 1900 block of E 33rd Street.
Officers responded and located an adult male suffering from multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment by Hamilton County EMS.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim had arranged to meet an individual he had been communicating with on Facebook. Upon arriving at the meeting location, the victim encountered two unidentified male suspects who pointed a firearm at him, stole items from him, then shot at him as he drove off in his vehicle.
The victim was able to get away and stopped at a gas station on Rossville Boulevard to ask for help.
CPD Homicide, Crime Scene, Robbery Units responded to investigate and process the scene. Suspect identification remains pending. Investigators are actively working to develop leads and gather additional evidence.
