East Ridge Rolls over Marion Co. in Boys' Soccer

East Ridge continued its winning ways, Thursday, with a win over Marion County at Camp Jordan in a boys’ District 6 A/AA soccer match.

Rijad Kesic and Erik Lopez scored two goals each in a 7-1 win. The victory moves the Pioneers to 5-1 overall on the year and a perfect 4-0 in the distrrict.

Alejandro Vicente and Hunter Schobert added goals. Eliazin Cruz, Rivaldo Yoc Bamaca and Schobert were each credited with assists.

East Ridge consistently kept the pressure on the Marion County defense taking 25 shots. Marion County managed three shots.

Garrett Smith scored the only goal for Marion County.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
