UPDATED: Missing Ooltewah Man Found Dead in Savannah

UPDATE: According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Derrick Evan Williams, who was last seen on Oct. 18 and reported missing, was found dead in Savannah, Georgia. The Chatham County Police Department is conducting an investigation. East Ridge News Online reached out via email to Chatham County authorities who said that no foul play was indicated in his death. No other details were given.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has been notified of a missing person, Derrick Evan Williams. 

Derrick Evan Williams, age 59, was last seen on October 18th, 2020 at his residence in the 5900 Block of Federal Lane Ooltewah, Tennessee. 

Mr. Williams is described as a white male, 6’01”, 220 pounds with salt and pepper hair, a beard, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans, a t-shirt, a dark green sweatshirt, and black crocs. His last known vehicle was a maroon, 2004 Volvo with Tennessee Registration NPK-049. 

It is unclear if Mr. Williams is still located in the Ooltewah/Hamilton County Area or if he has traveled outside the area.

The HCSO, along with his family, is concerned about Mr. Williams’ health. He is prescribed medications and he does not currently have them with him.  

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has sent out a regional broadcast to area law enforcement and continue the search for Mr. Williams.
