July 7 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

July 6 Day Shift

3620 Wimberly Lane- Alarm-

Police responded to check the residence. Upon arrival the alarm was found to be accidental.

482 McBrien Road (TNT Fireworks)- Delayed Attempted Theft-

The store manager reported on 7-4-20 an unknown black male attempted to take approximately $550 worth of fireworks without paying for the merchandise. According to the manager, the suspect placed several items of merchandise in a store shopping cart then left the store. The manager  stated he followed the suspect out the door and confronted him in the store parking lot. He advised the suspect presented a store receipt, but it did not represent the merchandise placed in the shopping cart. The manager stated the male suspect abandoned the merchandise and entered a black Kia sedan with Tennessee license place 1M64J2. The suspect then left the area without further incident and the manager recovered the full shopping cart. The TNT Fireworks Store did not have a working security camera system at the time of the theft and no pictures of the suspect were taken. At the time of this report, the identity of the male suspect was unknown, and no charges were presented for the incident.

Warrant Service-

James Henderson was served an East Ridge warrant for driving on revoked at 601.

Warrant Service-

Jaizon Xander turned himself in at the police department on a forfeiture capias for driving under the influence. Key Bonding was present for the event and posted his bond at the courthouse. After the bond was posted, Xander was released from custody and provided with his court date.

Donaldson Road @ Claremont Avenue- Shots Fired-

The caller advised of several rapid-fire gunshots somewhere in the surrounding area. Upon arrival police checked the neighborhood with nothing/no one located.

1410 Mack Smith Road (Budgetel)- Delayed Child Abuse-

CPS called requesting a report be filed regarding the abuse of a three-year-old child. The case worker advised the child was currently in foster care.

3717 Anderson Avenue- Noise Complaint/Fireworks-

The caller advised the people across the street from this address were shooting off fireworks. Upon arrival police checked the area with nothing/no one located.

Shelby Circle @ Edwin Lane- Noise Complaint/Fireworks-

The caller advised people in the area shooting off fireworks. Upon arrival police checked the area with nothing/no one located.

508 Marlboro Avenue- Vehicle Burglary-

The caller advised sometime during the night an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and took a Taurus .38 caliber revolver. The door was left unlocked. The firearm was entered in NCIC.

1424 North Smith Street- Property Damage-

The caller advised sometime during the night an unknown suspect busted the rear window of his car. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

4222Ringgold Road (Speedway)- Criminal Trespass Warning –

Wanda Hamlett and Denice Arpan were issued a criminal trespass warning following a suspicious activity/person call at the business. The two were checked for driver status and warrants then sent on their way.

 Night Shift

5740 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop:

Domanique Wells was arrested for criminal impersonation following a traffic stop.

3500 Ringgold Road/Warrant Service:

Steven Downey was arrested on a Hamilton County Warrant.

4307 Fountain Avenue / Lost Property Supplement:

Police received an email from the resident concerning the firearm that she reported lost on June 26.  She stated that she found the gun in her yard hidden by tall grass.  She stated that it must have fallen out of her purse.  Police contacted NCIC to remove the firearm from the database.
