Law and Order Feb. 10

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift February 9 : B Squad

26-001227-3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Mental Health – The caller reported a female was attempting to steal his vehicle. Police contacted the suspect who was determined to be having a mental health episode. The car’s owner did not wish to press charges. The party was transported to the hospital and placed on a CON and was found to have multiple active warrants out of East Ridge and Hamilton County for charges including aggravated assault and burglary.

26-001233 – 3600 BLK Bennett Road- Well-Being Check – Police were dispatched to the above address at the request of Adult Protective Services. On arrival, ERPD spoke with a man and woman living in less than desirable conditions. Police observed no running water, mold, mystery substance in the latrine and roaches on the walls. Codes Enforcement responded to the location due to the conditions. A report was submitted and is on file. APS was contacted and notified of the findings.

Night Shift February 9 : D Squad

26-001234 – 3200 BLK Castle Avenue – Shots Fired – Police responded to a report of shots fired, where the caller stated they heard what sounded like a single gunshot in the area. Patrol responded to the area but found nothing out of the ordinary.

26-001237 – 1600 BLK Springvale Road – Suspicious Vehicle – Officers encountered a white Ford truck with a business logo on the door parked at Springvale Park after dark. The occupant identified himself as an employee of the company and explained he was using the parking lot to rest between assignments.

26-001242-200 BLK Eads Street- Unknown Trouble – ERPD was called to this address after a male called in saying his mother wasn’t responding to him but had her eyes open. He then stated in the Dispatch that this was a setup and then disconnected with the call taker. Police arrived on the scene and found the man attempting to destroy his baggie of Methamphetamine in the kitchen sink. Officers recovered a large meth rock and residue from the drain. The man was taken to Hamilton County Jail without incident on charges of possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence.
