Law and Order Feb. 9

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift February 6 : A Squad

26-001148 – 941 Spring Creek Road – Disorder/Arrest – Police responded to a disorderly and aggressive patient in the emergency room. The subject refused repeated requests to return to her room, became increasingly agitated, threatened police, and struck an officer in the head. She was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and assault on police and transported to Hamilton County Jail for booking.

26-001155 – 1400 BLK Dover Lane – Property – The resident reported finding a broken-off screwdriver in the driver’s side lock of her car, as if someone had attempted to steal the vehicle. No camera footage or suspect description was available.

Night Shift February 6 : C Squad

26-001169 – The City of East Ridge, TN – Traffic Saturation – The East Ridge Police Department conducted a Traffic Saturation Operation through the funding and support of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. During the operation, East Ridge Police Officers conducted a total of 74 traffic stops resulting in 70 traffic citations. In addition, Police Officers made two arrests, recovered one stolen firearm, and seized several grams of marijuana and fentanyl.

26-001161 – 500 BLK Frawley Road – Suspicious Person – A local resident reported a suspicious male was walking through the area and looking into cars and residential windows. There was a 20-minute delay in the reporting of the incident. Police Officers responded to the area and found the suspicious male had left the area.

26-001163 – 6300 BLK Ringgold Road – Attempted Burglary – A security guard at a business reported seeing two males walking from behind a neighboring building. The security guard confronted the males, who stated they were just throwing away unwanted items. Police Officers responded to the location and found several bricks laying near the back door. ERPD also found damage consistent with an attempted break-in utilizing the bricks; however, the suspects did not enter the business. Police checked the area for the suspects, but they were not located. Arrest warrants or juvenile attachments are pending the identification of the two suspects.

26-001165 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Back EMS – Police Officers responded to the drive through area behind the restaurant to check on a fall victim. The patient was an elderly male who was walking back to his hotel after dining at a local restaurant. EMS checked the male, and he was successfully escorted back to his hotel room.

26-001168 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest – Police conducted a traffic stop with a silver Lexus due to an observed registration violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified and found to have a suspended driver’s license. The passenger was determined to have a valid arrest warrant through the City of Collegedale for Failure to Appear. Police Officers also detected the odor of marijuana, and a probable cause search was conducted. The vehicle search yielded a small amount of fentanyl, marijuana, a stolen firearm, and a large amount of cash. Both were taken into custody and charged with Simple Possession of an Illegal Substance, Child Endangerment, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

26-001172 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Narcotics Seizure – An officer observed a red Ford Focus driving erratically on Ringgold Road and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. Police Officers found that neither occupant had a valid driver’s license and the vehicle did not have a current registration or insurance. Police Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located approximately 21 grams of suspected marijuana and a THC dab pen. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to multiple violations. All contraband was seized and marked for destruction.

Day Shift February 7 : A Squad

26-001173 – 400 BLK Scruggs Road – Vehicle Fire – Police were dispatched to the gravel lot on a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival, a Toyota Camry was observed with the hood up and the engine bay on fire. Police knocked down the flames prior to ERFD arrival. Fire units responded and extinguished the remaining fire. No injuries or other property damage occurred.

26-001176 – 6300 BLK Ringgold Road – Vandalism / Burglary Attempt – Police responded to the business after employees arrived at work at observed the security cameras damaged and bricks along the walkway. Police observed video surveillance video of a masked person wearing a puffy jacket damage the exterior camera. Officers also observed interior video of a male and a female in the store earlier in the day wearing similar clothing to the vandal that attempted the break-in. The manager requested that the store be added to the watch list.

26-001179 -600 BLK Marlboro Avenue- Disorder Prevention – Officers stood by while the subject of a TPO retrieved property from the above address with a Law Enforcement Escort.

Night Shift February 7 : C Squad

26-001190 – 5300 BLK Reneau Way – Burglar Alarm – Police Officers responded to an alarm at this residence. Upon arrival, Police checked the exterior doors and windows but found no signs of forced entry. ERPD attempted to contact the residents of the home, but no one answered the door and a phone number was not located.

26-001202 – 4200 BLK Bennett Road – Mentally Disturbed – Police responded to the area of Ridgefield Circle after a suspicious male was found knocking on several doors and claiming his family was trying to kill him. Officers spoke with the subject and determined he was experiencing a mental health episode. Police also went to his family’s residence on Bennett Road and spoke with several individuals in the home. It was determined no one was attempting to harm the subject. The male was placed in protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Day Shift February 8 : A Squad

26-001214 – 1500 BLK Karwill Lane– Indecent Exposure/Arrest – A man was taken into custody for Indecent Exposure after exposing his entire buttocks to his neighbor during a dispute outside over a disruptive dog.

Night Shift February 8 : C Squad

26-001223 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – Police Officers responded to a disorder at the gas station involving several customers and an employee. ERPD determined that a man arrived at the location in an agitated state and initiated a verbal disorder with several customers in the parking lot. An employee told him to leave the premises, but he initially refused. Police Officers successfully de-escalated the situation, and the man left with a family member.

26-001226 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / DUI Arrest – A patrol officer observed a Toyota minivan failing to maintain its lane while traveling on Ringgold Road. Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver was highly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Without a License, and Financial Responsibility.
