Day Shift May 16
25-005180 – 3300 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – A silver sedan pulled up to an officer and the passenger jumped out screaming about a vehicle that blew a train horn in the tunnel. The male stated the horn caused his wife to run against the wall of the tunnel. No damage was observed on the vehicle. The male got back in the vehicle and the car pulled off. The officer observed the vehicle on the side of the road across from East Ridge Commons. The same male was standing pointing out a Grey Toyota Tundra parked at the barber shop. The driver of the Tundra stated he was in the tunnel and did not have a train horn. He hit his horn to prove that it was a standard horn. The other male involved began yelling and cursing from across the street. He was advised to return to his car. The Tundra driver eventually did admit he had a train horn and activated it in the tunnel out of fun. He was advised of the issues with his actions and was allowed to return to his haircut. The other vehicle left the scene and could not be located for more information.
25-005181 – 100 BLK Arnold Road – Theft – The reporting party said she was scammed after she paid an old Facebook friend $800 for a refrigerator, but the friend never followed through in delivering the fridge. She suspected her friend’s account had been hacked after the seller continued asking her to send money to different phone numbers using Apple Cash. Pending identification of the suspect, the victim wished to prosecute for Theft of Property.
25-005182 – 900 BLK S. Seminole Drive– Robbery of a Person/Unfounded – A party called in and reported he was robbed at gunpoint after he showed up an apartment to meet a woman he met on Facebook. The reporting party declined to speak with police, and officers were unsuccessful in contacting anyone inside the apartment. He did tell dispatchers that the “robber” took a knife and hatchet he was carrying away from him when he tried to meet his new romantic interest, leading responding officers to question the caller’s perception of being the victim.
Night Shift May 16
25-005197 – 1500 BLK Tombras Avenue – Disorder – A woman claimed a man was taking pictures of her juvenile son at the playground. Police approached the man and identified him. With his consent, officers viewed his phone and found no pictures of children. He also denied any wrongdoing. Approximately 25 minutes later, Police responded back to the area after the woman started yelling at the man. Officers spoke with her a second time concerning the incident and her behavior. Police found no evidence of a crime and the party left the park to distance himself from the woman.
25-005202 – 3725 Fountain Avenue, Apt 58 – Miscellaneous Complaint – A party, later found to be the same party from the playground, called the 911 Dispatch Center to complain about Police shining lights into her apartment. She also reported that officers were looking at her apartment and pointing at her. The Patrol Supervisor determined that two police units had responded to an unrelated Disorder Prevention in another apartment and had parked near her building. In addition, the responding Police units did not realize the woman even lived in that apartment and there was no intent to harass her.
25-005207 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Narcotics Violation / Arrest – Police responded to the report of a Suspicious Person at the inn. Police located a man behind the business and determined he was highly intoxicated. During a search incident to arrest, officers located drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged him with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication, and Resisting Stop, Frisk, Halt.
25-005209 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest- Following a traffic stop, a woman was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Another person in the vehicle was taken into custody for two active arrest warrants through the Hamilton County Sessions Court. The charges on the warrants were Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Reckless Endangerment.
Day Shift May 17
No Complaint Number – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Traffic Stop / Warrant Service – Police initiated a traffic stop in front of the arena. The driver was found to have an active warrant for criminal trespassing out of Sessions Court. He was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.
25-005214-6700 BLK Ringgold rd.- Disorder/Arrest – Police responded to the gas station on reports of a disorder. While in route, an officer observed a male who matched the description given by dispatch walking west in the 6600 block of Ringgold Rd. Police attempted to stop him, however, the male fled from police on foot. The man ran through several lots and was eventually caught. Police spoke with the male who stated he saw and heard police command him to stop; however, he was scared and continued to flee. Officers spoke with the man’s girlfriend who advised he had taken her car keys. He admitted he took the keys and threw them somewhere on Ringgold Road. Officers were unable to locate the keys. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with evading arrest and theft of property.
Night Shift May 17
25-005242 – 5000 BLK South Terrace – Suspicious Activity / Evading / Assist Other Agency – Several East Ridge Police units responded to a verbal disorder at the theater and the issue was quickly resolved. While still on scene, Police observed a silver sedan come to a sudden stop on I-24 Eastbound. Five males then exited the vehicle with firearms and began running toward the theater area. Officers immediately responded to the activity and detained three of the male subjects. The two remaining individuals ran from Police and entered the wooded area behind the theater. East Ridge Police units established a perimeter and requested assistance from other agencies. Several Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) units and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputies responded to assist with the incident. A CPD K9 unit and an HSCO Drone Team also responded to the location. A Police K9 led officers to the two remaining suspects in the wooded area who were both taken into custody. During the incident, CPD investigators determined the vehicle, and the five males, were involved in a homicide that occurred a few minutes earlier in Chattanooga. CPD took custody of the suspects along with three firearms and the silver sedan. ERPD will also seek arrest warrants and juvenile attachments for criminal actions that occurred in the City of East Ridge. The charges in East Ridge will include Disorderly Conduct, Evading, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, and Destruction of Evidence. The CPD investigation is on-going.
25-005240 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Intoxicated Person/Arrest – Police responded to the report of an injured, intoxicated male at the hotel. Officers located the subject, but he fled on foot and did not comply with Police instructions. Police caught up to the suspect and identified him. It was also found that the hotel and the adjacent inn both had issues with his behavior. He was taken in custody and charged with Public Intoxication, Evading, and Disorderly Conduct.
Day Shift May 18
25-005251 – 700 BLK Summit Avenue – Domestic Assault – Officers responded to the hospital after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend shoved her on the ground, drug her by the hair, and repeatedly kicked her in the legs and stomach. She had visible injuries consistent with her allegations. A warrant for Domestic Assault will be sought.
Night Shift May 18
25-005266 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Assist Other Agency – Following a traffic stop, a man was taken into custody for an active warrant through Hamilton County Sessions Court. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
25-005274 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served an Alias Capias through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the capias warrant was Driving on a Suspended License.
25-005273 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Assist Other Agency / Stolen Vehicle Recovery – East Ridge Police assisted Catoosa County Deputies with a stolen vehicle investigation on Key West Ave in Rossville, GA. Following a disorder at the residence, a woman had stolen a 2020 green Dodge Challenger. ERPD checked LPR data and found the vehicle drove into Chattanooga after the theft. ERPD, HCSO, and CPD units checked known locations for suspect. The Dodge Challenger was eventually located by CPD and the suspect was found near the vehicle. She was taken into custody, and the vehicle owner was notified, reference CPD 25-042260.
Day Shift May 19
25-005279 – 3600 BLK Helen Lane – Disorder – Officers responded to the above address for a domestic disorder involving two parties. The man alleged the woman attempted to strike him with a vehicle, prompting him to break the rear passenger window with a jack stand handle. He claimed no children were in the vehicle. The woman was uncooperative, later claiming the children were present and alleged prior domestic issues and property damage, though she declined to provide formal statements. An inspection of the vehicle revealed glass throughout the backseat and no indication of recent occupants. The parties were separated, with one transported to another location.
25-005293 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Motor Vehicle Collision – Arrest – Police responded to a crash where a driver fled the scene. A short time later, officers located the vehicle disabled on Ealy Road and contacted a subject who was attempting to distance themselves from the vehicle. After initially being provided with the wrong information by the subject, police later determined the party’s connection to the vehicle, and they were placed in custody. The subject was transported and charged with Driving Without a License, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Property Damage, and Criminal Impersonation.
Night Shift May 19
25-005305 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop – A man was stopped for expired tags. He abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot, evading police near Mimbro Lane. Dispatchers later advised he had a warrant for statutory rape. New warrants are being submitted for Evading Arrest, Driving without a License, Driving without Insurance, and an Expired Registration Violation.
25-005306-1400 BLK St. Thomas St. room 118-Unconcious Person – Police responded to the listed address for a party that was reportedly unconscious and turning blue. It was determined the party was overdosing on suspected fentanyl. ERFD began medical treatment until EMS arrived on scene to transport the party to the hospital.
