The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift November 5 : A Squad

25-011637 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Deceptive Practice – The victim reported being defrauded of $104.86 from her personal funds and $2,187 from the business account. She stated she received calls from individuals posing as a “fire inspector” named Christopher Matthews and a “FedEx” employee. The suspects instructed her to make several Bitcoin deposits totaling $2,291.86 to an address in Miami, Florida, under the pretense of resolving an issue with a check and receiving a package. She later realized it was a scam. She was provided with a fake confirmation number and tracking information.

25-011662 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Shoplifting – The store requested officers escort two females out, as they had previously been asked to leave. Officers contacted both women. A search of one revealed she had stolen $46.91 worth of merchandise. The business declined prosecution and both parties were issued a trespass warning.

Night Shift November 5: C Squad

25-011667 – 900 Block of Spring Creek Road – Focused Traffic Enforcements – Police conducted focused traffic enforcement of Spring Creek Road near ParkRidge East Hospital. Approximately 15 traffic stops were conducted in a 90-minute period resulting in approximately 21 traffic/warning citations for speeding, driving on suspended, financial responsibility, and light law violations.

25-011663 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Traffic Stop/Evading – Units were conducting speed enforcement in Camp Jordan when a dark colored SUV was observed traveling almost twice the posted speed limits. Units were able to get behind a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle appeared to be looking for a place to stop, but once it reached Ringgold Road, it began actively evading police. Given that traffic offenses were the reason for the stop, the pursuit was terminated. Units were able to get a tag from the vehicle, and the vehicle was BOLO’D out to surrounding agencies.

25-011665 – 200 BLK Eads Street– Auto Theft – Units responded to an Auto Theft. Police were already in the area investigating a vehicle that had just fled from the traffic stop and had a registered address at the complex. The reporting party stated that her and her two children had just went inside, when her 2019 Jeep Cherokee was stolen in the parking lot. This vehicle was the same vehicle police attempted to stop for a speed violation that fled but were not aware it was a stolen vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. The vehicle has been entered into NCIC as stolen and the original BOLO from the traffic stop was updated with identifiers given by the owner.

25-011666 – 6800 BLK Beulah Drive – Suspicious Activity – Police received a call about a red Dodge Charger driving slowly down the road, stopping in the middle of the roadway, and letting out a male with dreadlocks, dressed in all black. That male was seen casing the area. When the male realized he was being watched, he called for the vehicle to return. He was picked up quickly and the vehicle fled the scene. Police checked the area and the red Dodge Charger’s registered address with no contact.

25-011669 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – Police responded to this location following a theft of multiple alcoholic beverages. Staff alleged that a woman had concealed eight “Clubtails” and four “Buzz Balls” before she was confronted by staff. After a verbal argument, she allegedly returned four “Clubtails” and one “BuzzBall” before fleeing the store. The charge of Theft of Property is pending the collection of video footage and positive identification of the suspect.
