One Injured in Fiery Crash

September 4, 2019 By Dick Cook and Contributed Article 0 Comments

One person was taken to the hospital after a two-car collision Tuesday night.

According to a post on the City of East Ridge Fire and Rescue Facebook page, the crash happened at 8:40 p.m. at the corner of South Moore and Ringgold Road. Dispatch reported that one vehicle was on fire and the second was on its top and involved entrapment.

Fire Chief Mike Williams said when crews arrived one of the vehicles was heavily involved in fire but nobody was inside. The second vehicle was on its top with the occupant on the ground beside the overturned vehicle. Bystanders had removed the trapped person from the car.

Chief Williams said crews extinguished the fire and treated the injured patient on the scene. The patient was transported by Lifeguard EMS to a local hospital.

“Great work to all that were involved,” Chief Williams said.
