Pioneers Edge Hixson in Boys Soccer

East Ridge edged Hixson, 2-1, Monday at Weldon Osborne Stadium in a key District 6 A/AA boys soccer match.

Adam Adem scored both goals for the Pioneers, now 6-0 in district play and 7-1 overall. Alejandro Vicente and Rivaldo Yoc Bamaca were each credited with an assist. 

Cergio Maldono scored the only Hixson goal with an assist from Cameron Rigler. East Ridge out-shot Hixson, 17-5 in the game.

The win over the Wildcats puts East Ridge in first place in District 6 A/AA with its last remaining district contest against Tyner. That game, Senior Night, is slated for Thursday at 7 p.m. at Camp Jordan.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
