From the East Ridge Police Department.

On Friday, police discovered a 2015 Ford Mustang, which had been reported stolen out of Atlanta, GA, parked in the driveway of 983 Donaldson Road.  Police investigated the stolen vehicle and executed a search warrant of the property and located the keys to the stolen automobile along with 5.25 ounces of marijuana, digital scales, a narcotics “ledger,” and $3,403.00 cash.

Kacee Callahan was arrested and charged with theft over $10,000, possession of marijuana for resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chrell Gasaway was charged with possession of marijuana for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

_ On Friday, police responded to the Valero fuel station, located at 5408 Ringgold Road, to assist bonding agents with Platinum Bonding Company.

The bonding agents had encountered a male subject and attempted to take the man into custody when they discovered the man to be in possession of a handgun.  Police intervened and were able to take the male subject into custody.

The subject has been identified as 26-year old Butch Allen Shirley.  Shirley was found to be in possession of a stolen .40-cal. loaded handgun, 9.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine and an assortment of illegal controlled substances.

Shirley has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, theft under $500, four counts of possession of schedule II narcotics for resale, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Several crimes left unmeasured were deterred from occurring today by the committed and professional work of these officers.  Anytime dangerous weapons and substances can be taken out of the hands of those choosing to violate the law is considered a successful day for both the officers and the community in which they serve.
