Police Briefs for Sept. 5

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift September 4

24-011350 – 1500 BLK Tombras Avenue – Arrest / Recovery of Stolen Property – Police arrested a man for Possession of Stolen Property (over $1000) and Driving on a Revoked License after he tried to sell a stolen trailer to its original owner.

24-011343 – 700 BLK South Germantown Road – Deceptive Practice – The caller informed police her computer was hacked and was possibly downloading child pornography. This belief came after having received an unsolicited message from a likely scammer. Officers were not able to find anything new downloaded to her computer except a software called “Ultraview.”  She did not give any banking information to the perpetrators but was advised to take the computer to get it cleared out by a professional.

24-011339 – 6600 BLK State Lane- Disorder – Police were called to the above address for the neighbor’s dog running around unleashed and being aggressive. The RP stated that the dogs had been a recurring issue. The owner of the dogs was advised to keep them leashed outside his fence.

Night Shift September 4

24-011358 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – The victim reported a check he mailed for $6,000 was stolen, washed, and forged. It was then deposited by a suspect.

24-011365 – 3300 BLK Shadowlawn Drive – Domestic Assault – The caller reported another man shoved him down the stairs. The suspect left before police arrived; warrants for domestic assault are being sought.

24-011371 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Field Interview – During a business check, police found a man asleep on the lawn. He was traveling to Florida and was not trespassed. No local warrants were found.

24-011374 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Vehicle/ Field Interview – Police found a woman asleep in her car. She was between homes and had approval from business to rest. Officers checked her status and went about their business.

24-011378 – 700 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Traffic Arrest – A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a party with warrants for Assault. Charges include Driving without a License, Simple Possession, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Light Law Violation.
