June 11, 2018 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

_ 800 block Hardin Dr.: Police were called to the area last Thursday evening about a prowler. According to a police report, when an officer arrived the homeowner said that her dog started barking at the back door. The woman said she saw a man on her back deck take off and then go under the deck. The report states that the officer looked under the deck and found Renzo Alberto Salazar hiding. The officer detained Salazar to found out what the situation was.

According to the report, the female homeowner told police that Salazar was at her house earlier watching television and left just after 11 p.m. The woman turned off the back porch lights and was preparing to go to bed when the security light on the back deck came on. The woman told police she looked out and saw the back of a man wearing a tan hat and a red shirt. The woman said the man ducked down and she went inside and got her two young daughters who had just gotten out of the shower and were wearing only towels around them.

Salazar, 56, who lives next door to the victim, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Criminal Trespass and Observation Without Consent of a Child under 13 Years of Age.

_ 6805 Cedarwood Ct.: Police were called to the address last week on a vehicle burglary. According to a police report, the officer spoke with a man who said that someone had entered his vehicle overnight and stole two firearms from the center console. The victim told police that he did not see any signs of forced entry and believed he accidentally left the car unlocked. According to the report, the victim and his wife were awakened when their home’s security alarm was activated. It appeared that the suspect used the garage door opener inside the unlocked vehicle in the driveway to open the door. The stolen firearms, a Glock 43 and a Glock 27, were entered into a national crime data base as stolen.

_ 1520 Prigmore: Police saw a Chevy Trailblazer at this location, a “narcotics distribution point” according to a police report. An officer from the Crime Suppression unit conducted a registration check from the license plate. The plate returned to a Ford vehicle. The report states that the officer lost contact with the Chevy but picked it back up on Springvale Road. Officers initiated a traffic stop to investigate the registration issue. The vehicle turned on Hollywood Avenue into Catoosa County and then into a driveway of a vacant house. The driver jumped out of the vehicle and took off. The report states officers were able apprehend the driver of the vehicle, later identified as David Waters. The report states that Waters had a suspended drivers license and active warrants out of Walker County, Georgia. A search of Waters revealed a bag of methamphetamine in his front right pocket. Waters was released to Catoosa County authorities. The report states that East Ridge authorities may prosecute Waters at a later date.

_ 4100 block Ringgold Rd.: David Evans, a man wanted for Domestic Assault, Driving on a Revoked License and Leaving the Scene of an Accident was apprehended by police late last week. According to a police report, an officer traveling down Ringgold road spotted Evans riding a bike down the road. The officer turned his cruiser around and Evans fled behind nearby office buildings on his bike. Evans took off across Ringgold Road through backyards of residences and apprehended a short distance away at East Ridge Elementary School’s parking lot, after being shot with a Taser. According to the report, Evans was taken to Parkride East for medical clearance and then booked into the Hamilton County Jail.
