April 12 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the East Ridge Police Department.

April 08 –Day Shift

6105 Ringgold Rd(Pedestrian Struck/Fight 21-004731):

Police responded to a pedestrian struck in front of Popeye’s.  En route to the call the pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle became involved in a physical altercation.  After viewing cellphone footage of the incident it was determined both parties were mutual combatants. Both parties refused to prosecute. 

(21-004716) 5319 Ringgold Rd. (well being):

Police were called due to Anthony T. sleeping outside of Fast Access Health. He was advised to move along.

21—004710 – 2011 Schmidt St – Auto Burglary –

The complainant reported that his Nissan Pathfinder was entered overnight by an unknown suspect.  He stated that several items in his vehicle were moved but nothing appeared to be missing.

21-004728 – 4348 Ringgold Road – Disorder –

The complainant reported that an unknown black female initiated a verbal disorder with the Sonic employees and then threw a milk shake against the front door.  The female then left in a white vehicle.

April 08 –Night Shift

6500 Ringgold Road / Warrant Service (21-004746):

Charles Coffey was arrested on an East Ridge warrant during a suspicious activity call at this location.

4336 Greenbriar Road / AOA Warrant Service (21-004751):

Robert Perkins was detained and transported to the Hamilton County Jail on a warrant for aggravated domestic assault out of Chattanooga.

3615 Ida Belle Lane / Assault (21-004738):

1417 St Thomas St/ Narcotics arrest (21-004739):

Following a traffic stop at this location, police arrested Cortney Watkins for the following: Retaliation for past action, Possession of schedule I, Drug paraphernalia, Stop sign violation, Driving while suspended, Tampering with evidence, Driving under the influence 2nd, Evading arrest, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Simple possession.

3617 Ida Belle Lane / Disorder (21-004753):

Wensdy Griffith was taken into custody for aggravated burglary after police were called due to her banging on her neighbor’s doors and windows, breaking the bedroom window, and reaching into the bedroom through the broken window. Griffith stated that she believes the neighbor stole from her earlier in the day and wanted her belongings back.

April 09 – Day Shift

 1417 N. Mack Smith/ Suspicious Person:

21-004757  Employees at the Chiropractic office discovered a W/M asleep in their doorway. Police contacted Randy S., who had been living at the Budgetel for about three months until he ran out of money. The man was checked for warrants and sent on his way.

6701 RGR/ Suspicious Person:

21-004759 Employees at the Sunrise Market called about a homeless W/M acting strange and confronting customers. Police made contact with John B., who showed a warrant out of Whitfield County Georgia. However, due to Covid they would not accept him. The man was told to move on and not to return to the store. He left headed toward Georgia.

6401 RGR/ Suspicious Person:

21-004763 McDonald employees had a homeless B/M come into their lobby and sit in the floor, refusing to leave. Police arrived and spoke with Maurice E. The man showed no warrants and was told to leave.

6509 Slater Rd/ Suspicious Persons:

21-004775 Staff at the Sugar Plum antique market reported a man and woman couple sitting out next to their business arguing. The woman was observed screaming at cars and customers. Police made contact with Sara P. and her boyfriend, Earl, who said he had been staying at Budgetel for the last 14 months until he had to move out due to Sara’s drug influenced behavior. Earl said he has been working across the street at the 4As.

201 Eads St Apt 446 / Juvenile arrest:

21-004781 A B/F juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault on police. Party was transported to JDU after police were called regarding the juvenile and her sister fighting along with a state case worker.

 6708 US41 Circle K ® (21-004787):

Complainant  had purse stolen by a w/m in a black Nissan Sentra

4000 South Terrace (21-004804):

Ledarius Lee arrested on Hamilton County warrants following a traffic stop.

941 Spring Creek Road, Parkridge ER (21-004794):

Todd Sere arrested for assaulting staff.

3636 US41 (21-004807):

Johnny Harrison arrested for domestic assault.

5600 US41 (21-004806):

Tabitha Gant arrested for possession.

1417 St Thomas St Motel 6 ® (21-004808):

Zachory Talley arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

6700 US41 Quality Inn ® (21-004811):

Maureen Hegmann and Christina Mitchell arrested for possession.

4222 US41 Speedway ® (21-004813):

Billy Wilson and Rebecca Hutcheson were issued a verbal criminal trespass warning(s).
