Aug. 4 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the East Ridge Police Department.

Aug. 2 Day Shift

6514 Ringgold Road (arrest)

Terry A. Cuzzort was taken into custody for public intoxication. 21-010988

21-010978 – 6500 Ringgold Rd – Narcotics Violation:

During a well-being check at the Tip Top Food Mart, police found Jorden Sancrant in possession of 214 grams of marijuana in her 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe.  Inside the vehicle, police also found Jordan Sancrant’s four children.  Another woman was found in the passenger seat of the vehicle and her child was also in the vehicle. Sancrant and the other woman were traveling from their home state of Ohio to Florida when the incident occurred.  CPS was contacted and information was sent to the Ohio Office of Families and Children concerning the incident.  Sancrant was arrested for Possession of Schedule VI and transported to the Hamilton County Jail at Silverdale.   

21-010975 – I75 Mile Marker 1.00 – Suspicious Activity:

Police responded to three separate reports of suspicious activity involving a broken down silver Mercury Gran Marquis on I-75 southbound.  In each incident, police located the vehicle’s owner in the area. In the first incident, the owner advised that she ran out of gas and needed assistance.  Police provided the woman with a ride to a local gas station.  Police later returned to the area to find that she had injured herself and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Police returned a third time and the woman advised that her car still would not start.  TDOT responded to the location and assisted in moving the vehicle off the interstate.

Night Shift

10 S. Brooks Ave / Warrant Service: (21-010892)

Ronald Cummins was served with an East Ridge warrant at this location and transported to Silverdale Detention Center.

1417 St. Thomas St. / Arrest: (21-011016)

Roman Neri was taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Schedule II, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following a traffic stop at this location.

21-011000 4348 Ringgold Road / Deceptive Practice:

Travis Stringfield was arrested for criminal simulation following attempting to purchase his order with a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill.

21-011017 5000 block Newport Drive / Auto Theft:

The complainant  contacted police in reference to her 17-year-old son stealing her 2016 Ford Fusion TN tag 6M14E2. The juvenile male was previously reported missing and is currently listed as missing in NCIC. A county-wide BOLO  for the vehicle was issued by dispatch, and the vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen. Police will be seeking attachments against the juvenile male for auto theft at the opening of Juvenile Court.

(21-011027) 20 I-75 South / Vehicle Fire:

ERPD and ERFD responded to a vehicle fire. Once on scene, it was found to be a truck loaded with large hay bales that had caught fire. This shut most of the interstate down for some time. 

21-011025 6500 Ringgold Rd / Traffic-DUI:

Ladarius Labron Johnson was stopped for speeding. Johnson was arrested for DUI.

5400 Clemons Road / Suspicious Activity:

Police got out with Christopher Bradley, who matched the description of a shoplifting suspect from Walmart.  He named his female accomplice, first name only, Brittany.  Police gathered information on Bradley and took him into custody for Hamilton County Warrants.  Police transported Bradley to the Hamilton County Jail at Silverdale.  21-011008.
