August 9 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along” reports provided by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

August 07 – Day Shift

3805 Ringgold Road (AOA/Wires Down 22-011100):

Police responded with ERFD on a wires down call behind the business. On scene police assisted Fire.

August 07 – Night Shift

4214 Ringgold Road / Warrant Service (22-011113):

Travis Roden was taken into custody at the East Ridge Police Department on two East Ridge warrants after being located by bounty hunters around Rossville Blvd. Roden was transported to Silverdale without incident.

3725 Fountain Avenue / Evading (22-01119):

Edgar Martinez Sontay was arrested for Evading Arrest, Underage DUI and Driving Without a License after he attempted to evade police upon pulling into a parking lot and fleeing on foot.

6642 Ringgold Road, Econolodge / Arrest-Drugs (22-011124):

Megan Daniel Skates was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

4100 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop (22-011125):

Cortino Harris was taken into custody following a traffic stop at this location after being found to be driving on revoked for DUI.

3617 Craig Road / Assault in progress (22-011127):

Jacob Frederick was taken into custody for domestic assault and resisting arrest following a fight with his father.

About Dick Cook

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
