City Services Curtailed Due to Weather

January 25, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

No Sanitation Service on Monday

Due to hazardous weather conditions and in the interest of public safety, the City of East Ridge offices and Library will be closed on Monday, January 26.

Local and state emergency agencies continue to report dangerous travel conditions, including low visibility from fog, low-hanging tree limbs, freezing drizzle, and the potential for black ice as temperatures rapidly decline throughout the area overnight.

Residents are strongly encouraged to remain weather-aware and avoid unnecessary travel to allow public safety and emergency crews to respond efficiently to weather-related incidents and roadway concerns.

All properties scheduled for Monday garbage pick-up will be collected on Tuesday. To ensure prompt service, please make sure to place your trash carts at the curb the night before your scheduled pickup date.

Essential public safety services, including East Ridge Fire Department and East Ridge Police Department, will continue normal operations.
