The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is investigating a deadly crash that occurred on I-24 WB Monday night.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., CPD’s Traffic Unit responded to a multivehicle crash near the Rossville Boulevard exit on I-24 WB. Preliminary findings indicate a motorcyclist driving at a high rate of speed crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer.

The motorcycle rider, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

These findings are preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
