June 28, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting that was reported to have occurred on Highway 153 South between Thrasher Bridge and Exit 5A.

At 4:40 A.M., CPD officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 4900 block of Bonny Oaks Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned the incident had not occurred at that location. The victim, a 15-year-old male, was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

CPD Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to investigate and canvas the area of the reported shooting location. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a road rage incident with the suspect’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing and all leads are being thoroughly pursued.

This information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.
