Early Voting Begins Wednesday

October 13, 2026 By Dick Cook Leave a Comment

Early voting for the Nov. 3rd State and Federal General Election begins Wednesday and continues through Thursday, Oct. 29.

Tennesseans will be choosing party candidates for governor, the U.S. Senate seat held by Bill Hagerty, and the House seat held by Chuck Fleischmann as well as many local elections.

There are several Constitutional Amendments, including one adding several categories of crimes for which judges can hold a defendant in jail without bond.

An East Ridge referendum would remove benefits for council members. The mayor would receive a salary of $12,000 per year and the council members $7,200 per year.

Art Rymer is running against Rep. Esther Helton-Haynes in District 30.

East Ridge contenders for two council seats are Robert “Bob” Gilreath, James L.C. Meyers, Caroline Rossman, David Tyler and Marty Von Schaaf.

Patricia Cassidy, East Ridge City Court Clerk for the last 12 years, is opposed by Misty Chauncey.
