East Ridge Parks and Recreation Night at the Lookouts is almost here.
On Saturday April 30, the Southern League Class AA Chattanooga Lookouts will host, not only the Montgomery Biscuits, but the East Ridge Parks and Recreation for a night of fun at the ballpark.
East Ridge Parks and Recreation Director, Stump Martin, said this is one of the most fun nights of the year for the kids who go to the game.
“I remember everything about my father taking me to see the Chattanooga Lookouts at Historic Engel Stadium when I was 12-years-old,” Martin said. “There’s something special about taking a child to their first professional baseball game and we team with the Lookouts to make this happen at least once a year.”
Martin said there’s a direct East Ridge connection with the Lookouts.
“John Woods, who is one of the owners of the Minnesota Twins AA franchise, lived, grew-up, went to school and played ball in East Ridge,” Martin said. “John’s one of us. We are proud of his accomplishments and looking forward to cheering his Lookouts to victory.”
“Our teams will go on the field and join the pregame parade around the walking track,” Martin said. “Then, they can stay following the game to run the bases. It’s huge for the kids to get to do that. “
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the game time is 7:15.
