In an attempt to beautify its campus, East Ridge High School is having a community work day on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 8 a.m. until noon, officials said.
Projects will be tackled both inside and outside the school that is more than 50 years old.
Those projects include painting the interior of some office spaces. On the exterior of the building the intent is to rake leaves, mulch around the base of trees, remove grass from planters and planting flowers. In addition, officials want to clean along the side of the curbs.
Organizers are asking for volunteers who come to bring some tools of their own. That includes pressure washers, leaf rakes, square and round point shovels, blowers, weed eaters and pruning and/or lopping shears. If you’ve got a ladder and long-handled scrub bushes that could prove useful for taking on cleaning the awning in front of the school.
The school is seeking donations of landscaping cloth, flowers, mulch, paint brushes, rollers, drop cloths and the like.
