Fire Destroys Home Under Construction

March 11, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

RINGGOLD, GA – A family planning to move into their newly built home saw their dream go up in smoke after fire destroyed the large three-story house Tuesday morning on The Pointe Drive in Catoosa County.

Catoosa County E-911 received calls for help at 7:09 a.m. and dispatched Catoosa County Fire Department crews from stations 3,7,9, and 10. Upon arrival firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke conditions from the large structure. Additional help from volunteer firefighters, command staff, the Georgia Department of Corrections firefighters, and Puckett EMS worked for several hours to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.

According to Catoosa County Fire Chief Daniel Walston, construction on the house was scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks but is now a total loss. Chief Walston said a house previously on the lot of this morning’s fire was destroyed by fire in 2015, possibly the result of a lightning strike. The cause of this morning’s fire is under investigation.
