July 15, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

The Fraternal Order of Police Rock City Lodge 22 has endorsed Vince Dean in the race for Criminal Court Clerk in the general election on August 6th.

Dean was challenged in the May primary and handily defeated his opponent.  He is now being challenged in the general election.

A statement released by the Lodge stated, “The Fraternal Order of Police Rock City Lodge is proud to endorse Vince Dean for Criminal Court Clerk in the upcoming general election. Vince Dean served the City of Chattanooga as a police officer, as well as other offices across the state.  He continues to serve Hamilton County as Criminal Court Clerk.”

Chris Mullinix, President of the Lodge said, “Vince Dean is a proven leader who prioritizes effective operations of the Hamilton County Court System.  He has the reputation of treating everyone fairly.”

“It is humbling to be endorsed by the men and women who are in and out of our office everyday.” Dean said of the endorsement.  “They know first hand the advancements that we have made in the office, as well as our effectiveness.”

Since taking office in 2014, Dean has improved efficiency in several ways for the office.  He opened a one stop shop for expungements and a payment center that assist citizens in having their drivers license reinstated, along with helping those in financial difficulty maintain a payment plan.  His office stands as a model for those across the state.  He routinely hosts clerks from other counties to assist them in training of proven effective policy and procedures.

He also serves on the Board of Directors of the County Officials Association of Tennessee and the Tennessee Court Clerks Association.  Prior to winning this office, Dean served in the Tennessee General Assembly and on the City Council in the City of East Ridge and as Mayor of East Ridge.

Dean and his wife Debbie have two daughters, one grand daughter and are anxiously awaiting their second expected in September.
